A straightforward start

Download the individual plugin ZIP.
In WordPress, open Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
Select the ZIP, install it and activate it.
Read the included readme for the plugin’s settings and usage.

Use a staging site first and keep a current backup. Downloads are provided without warranty under their open-source licence.

A printed QR code should not need replacing whenever a menu or prospectus changes. Jeet PDF Version Desk keeps a permanent document link and sends visitors to the PDF edition you select.

Create a document under Tools → PDF Version Desk, choose a public Media Library PDF, and publish the record. Add a new edition later or restore an earlier version. Source PDFs remain untouched.

Best for

Public school prospectuses, restaurant menus, service brochures, society notices and policy documents where a shared link must stay useful.

Public documents only

Media Library PDF URLs are public. Drafting a record disables its stable link but does not hide or delete uploaded files. This plugin does not protect paid or private downloads. Changing your site domain changes the absolute link.

Installation

Install the ZIP in WordPress, activate it, then open Tools → PDF Version Desk. Select a PDF and publish a document record. Copy its permanent link or add its displayed shortcode to a page.

Frequently asked questions

Does it replace or delete existing PDFs?

No. Each version refers to an existing Media Library PDF. The stable link redirects to the selected version without modifying source files.

Will the link survive a document title change?

Yes. The record receives an immutable ID-suffixed slug. A site domain or home URL change still changes the absolute link.

Are private notes displayed publicly?

No. Notes are shown only in the administrator screen. The public shortcode shows labels and dates; backups may still contain notes.

Does this protect private PDFs?

No. Media Library URLs are public, including older editions. Use this plugin only for documents intended to be public.

Can I restore an older edition?

Yes. Select an existing version as current and save without choosing a new PDF.

What happens when I delete the plugin?

Records, version history and PDFs remain in your database and uploads. Stable links need the plugin active to resolve again.
